Plasterboard is not one thing but a system. Dry-partition stud walls divide spaces in hours, with no rubble or drying time. Dry linings are a second skin that insulates against noise and heat and covers damp, uneven walls without chasing.
False ceilings lower the height, hide beams and AC ducts, and allow downlights, LED strips and coving, continuous, accessible or decorative.

A great advantage of plasterboard is that the cavity between frame and board can be filled with mineral wool, so one installation adds both acoustic and thermal insulation.

Installed plasterboard starts from around €20/m². As an indicative guide: a dry lining from €27/m², a plasterboard stud wall from €36/m² and a false ceiling without insulation from €31/m². The final price depends on the board type, the insulation and the detailing; after the survey we provide a fixed, itemised quote. IGIC is not included.
A dry lining is a second plasterboard skin fitted in front of an existing wall, usually with mineral wool in the cavity. It is used to insulate against noise or heat, to cover damp and uneven walls, and to run services without chasing into the wall. It is one of the most common solutions on façades and party walls.
Yes. A plasterboard false ceiling is ideal for recessed downlights, LED strips and indirect lighting, and for concealed curtain pelmets and coving. It also lowers the height, hides air-conditioning ducts or beams and improves the finish of the room.
Yes, when fitted with mineral wool in the cavity. A plasterboard stud wall or dry lining with insulation blocks noise considerably better than an untreated traditional hollow-brick partition. For demanding soundproofing we fit double-board systems and higher-density wool.
