Stud walls, dry linings and false ceilings: what each solves
Plasterboard is not one thing but a system with several solutions. Dry-partition stud walls divide and reconfigure spaces in hours, with no rubble or drying times, ideal for creating a bedroom, a dressing room or splitting a living area. Dry linings are a second skin in front of a wall: they insulate against noise and heat, cover damp and uneven surfaces, and run services without chasing the wall.
False ceilings are perhaps the most versatile: they lower the height, hide beams and air-conditioning ducts, and allow recessed downlights, LED strips, concealed pelmets and decorative coving. They can be continuous, for a smooth, modern finish; accessible, with removable tiles to reach services; or decorative, with shapes and levels. During the survey we define which system fits what you need and your budget.
Plasterboard with insulation: two upgrades in one job
One of the great advantages of plasterboard is that the cavity between the frame and the board can be filled with mineral wool, so a single installation adds both acoustic and thermal insulation. A dry lining with wool on the façade blocks the sun's heat and lowers air-conditioning use; the same system between dwellings or towards communal areas reduces noise, which is especially valuable in holiday lets where noise complaints hurt reviews.
We choose the thickness and density of the wool according to the goal, and in wet areas — bathrooms, kitchens, utility rooms — we fit moisture-resistant board, plus fire-rated board where the regulations require it. We always finish by filling and sanding to leave the surface ready to paint, with neat detailing, so the result is indistinguishable from a traditional wall but with better performance.
